Hi .02. Actually I'm a VA transplant ;-) I've never heard anyone talking about getting shocked by the ground around here. I don't see birds on the ground in my yard but I do see them wandering around on the roof and fence as well as the wires. It hasn't happened again and I am still walking around barefoot, so perhaps it was a fluke? I guess time will tell!
