Believe it or not I do know where you are talking about - there used to be a little general store there along Hwy 14 but its closed down now...

There's lots of good geology in and around there - one of my favorite places is Last Chance Canyon that's just a little further north from there. I've found some Opal there too - not very good but it was opal. Lots of gold in the area and miners with guns too. The BLM has bought up a lot of the area and won't even allow access to a lot of the area anymore...

Its all relatively close to Coso Junction.
