Hi Petra. The story behind Jim Berkland should be interesting. He is a man whose only goal in life was to save the lives of people. As earthquakes are something he understands he sought ways to predict them. His method is still controversial today and he will tell you that himself.

Jim was and is a good geologist and understands what the rocks tell him, but he didn’t understand people. Particularly those who made the rules. He didn’t and still doesn’t understand them, but then I don’t they understand him.

Jim was born at the wrong time period, or the time period was ready for Jim. His way of thinking was and still is out of touch with those above him. They only see him as a maverick. They view him as a person who can’t follow the dogma that has been sat down before him.

The biggest problem as you and I well know is that Jim can’t be quiet. He has this infinity for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. He challenged them and as such they had to make an example of him in the hopes that it would quiet the others who might follow in his footsteps. So far that has worked. As you and I are on the outside we can say things, which they have no control over, but it’s also being on the outside that we can be ignored.

One of the things I learned as an analyst for the Government is that if you ignore those who are trying to tell the truth, they will not be listened to. It is one of the oldest and easiest ways of discrediting a person, or person’s ideas and theories. Take Care…Don in creepy town
