I also remember this anniversary quite well. It was an unusual quake pattern with the quakes on more than 1 fault.

I was camping in a tent with my daughter's girl scout troop. We were miles away in Long Beach and I could see the ground roll from the initial quake. There was a lot of arcing from power lines also.

Didn't this sequence cause some of the stress that caused the Hector Mine quake? The Hector Mine sequence also set off quakes on other faults as well I believe. There was a swarm down near Salton Sea then. I also thought that these quakes may have put addiional stress on the lower San Andreas section.
