Hi All,

I am so glad to see some response to this hypothetical thought process. While it isn't really very radical, I think it has some potential of the right combination of individuals who can work together peacefully to make it happen. You see, there really isn't any reason it cannot be done, except that people instantly, though quite naturally will find fault in anything.

I enjoyed every single response here. Together I believe they made important statements about the values issues, focusing on being site specific and understanding from Roger not to place a value on anything in particular at first, but to let the computer make this determination on its own. The human of course would not do this. Background seismicity would be a the low end, whereas sudden water well dropping, or very unusual geyser actvity would have to weigh much more heavily in the evaluation.

A couple of thoughts come to mind when I think about this topic or geo-sciences in particular. It is said we only use 10% of our brain. If that is so, what's the other 90% sitting dormant for? Will it eventually start working? If it does, how much more can be develop as human beings? Will we be more left brained, or right brained? Or perhaps there will be balance in both. But the untapped human potential is already in existence.

Then last but not least, let us remember how computer games began with one of the primary games being Chess. It demonstated immediately how the computer learned all of the possible outcomes from the move of one simple Pawn and how easily it beat the human repeatedly.

Life in itself is sometimes mirrors the above. You change one aspect and then many other factors that would not normally come into play, affect the individual. A sudden large unexpected earthquake occurs and many die and those who live must rebuild their lives. Through the process, it affects some more than others and for the lucky, it has no effect at all. Its shear kismet.

We should ask, what is a miracle? It is something that by reasons unknown occurs with no explanation. They happen everyday, but you have to be open to hearing about them to know of their existence.

The above exercise has done something you may not be aware of at this time. It is a seed of thought and as that thought is conceived, somewhere out there the spark that lights the flame of knowledge, inspiration and devotion may in the end be the well spring to something truly fantastic in the future.
