Petra, I'm having a little trouble with your wording, or maybe it is my second Budweiser (changing from Rolling Rock). If you mean this web page, Earthwaves, as "this place", I'd say "NO", that this page is probably not taken all that seriously. This page is a good place for some discussion. But, the predictions put on this page without a clear discussion of the method are probably not going anywhere. It would take publication of the method to start to be taken seriously. But, this page could potentially help get the people together that could make that happen. But, I've seen no/little progress on this since I started reading and posting last Fall.

As for the warning of a devastating earthquake, I could call the guy and ask if he is a scientist, but I'm sure he is not. I'll let you know if his prediction occurs.

Headed to California tomorrow to work with a couple of students, mapping Ross Sea and Santa Monica Bay....I'll be in Ross Sea in January if I get a medical exception.....Chris
