Bay Area Data

Hi All. I’m not sure as to what is going on in the Bay Area, but according to “Momento Mori” there appears to be a lot of energy in the area. Not sure if it’s in the Bay Area it self, or some other nearby location.

Also the tilt meter at Berkeley is indicating a good amount of tilt, but not 100% sure if the data is good, or bad. It started climbing around 05/30/02 and is now starting to return to normal, or is starting to drop.

There is very little to no strain being indicated anywhere in the Bay Area. The nearest strain meter is about 6 miles to the east. There is an indication of creep, which may account for why there is very little strain however creep is measured at the surface and all of the other data is below the surface. The Berkeley tilt meter is 656 feet below the surface with the last 10 feet in unfractured bedrock.

I have never seen tilt associated with a quake before so I’m not sure as to what it should look like just before a quake. Take Care…Don in creepy town
