Hi All. Looks like Cathryn got her earthquake. Had a 3.1 near Watsonville, California. She had been looking for a quake near Morgan Hill, California.

The moment tensor solution indicates that it was a strike slip quake with down slip component on a vertical fault plane.

We felt it here in Hollister although just barely. I live 17 miles ESE of the epicenter of the M>3.1 quake It’s strange that we would feel this one, but not the one near Tres Pinos which is a little larger and a bit closer (M>3.3, 13 miles SSE of Hollister.) My desk lamp, which is a draftsman type lamp, was sure shaking. I wonder if I could attach a pen to it and have it record the quake on a piece of paper. Could be the type of quake it was. It was close to being a thrust quake, but didn’t make it. Take Care…Don in creepy town
