The trouble with the lost Dutchman is that it breeds Gold fever. It is kinda fun to watch people who have caught it. In the Sumpter Valley area of Eastern Oregon there is a lot of it. The valley was dreged for gold for about fifty years and in the Elkhorn moutains to the north, there were four hard rock mines that combined together to mine the longest continuous vein of gold ore ever found on the north american continent.
