A case in point down the threads on this page are three posts having to do the the Solar Flares and their affect on earthquake triggering. Here's Lowell's post that followed by report of the flare located at Thailand.

Interesting that the first earthquake of Ml>4 after the flare noted by Petra occurred on the Thailand border with Burma (Myanmar). Petra's note on the flare had stated:

"I see we just had a minor M Class Flare that impacted at the strongest point in Thailand "

The event (GSC parameters) was:

07May2002 09:39:36.8 22.0N 94.3E 70 mb=4.6 M GSR MYANMAR
