Punta Gorda's Rockin'

Hi All,

Well I guess its time to pay attention to the Mendocino Fault. I don't know about the rest of you, but I really don't like the looks of this string of quakes. The problem is that is really is a string, all along the same fault-line from east to west.

I have had absolutely no ear tones to indicate this series of quakes was about to arrive, which I find interesting in itself. I checked the solar data and found no flares or high levels of any kind of activity occurring over night. But I have to say, I think my ESP was telling me something. At the end of this list you'll find a poem I wrote for The Zone which I posted on the site before going to bed last night around mid-night. If we don't end up with a 5.0 or greater within two weeks, I would be tremendously surprised. Petra

The Earthquake Experience

Shh, stop, listen and wait,
Did I feel something, perhaps a quake?
A little lift, what did I hear?
The sounds of rustling, Uh Oh, it's here.

I run to the doorway, as the room begins to move,
I see the chandelier swing in the grove.
The kitchen blinds, bang and sway,
As the room shifts, I pray.

Don't panic, be calm, they always say,
I move from the door to the hallway.
This is my safe place, where I'll stay,
Until the house stops shaking today.

The seconds seem long, I hope it stops soon,
I move to and fro and it feels like a swoon.
As the pots and pans and dishes move,
I hear the rattle and bang and the lights flicker too.

I planned for this day, many times before,
I'll be alright, I just gotta stay near the floor.
I yell "earthquake stop", I want to run for the door.
But, I won't panic, I'll be calm as can be,
Ah, its stopping, now I can breathe.

As I relax I hear the news on TV,
The quake was a 6.0, not so far from me.
I crawl to the livingroom so I can see,
But I'm waiting for the aftershock, which will surely be.

Here it comes I can feel the house roll,
The news folks are out of control.
They are up and down in their seats as they speak,
"There's just been an earthquake", they are back in their seats.

The worst is over, I am so relieved.
No damage for me, just my rattled nerves,
Because I prepared for the worst of Mother Natures curves.

While I cannot say I was not afraid,
I learned preparedness and it paid,
I did what I could to play it safe and stayed,
Not outside, but inside, in my hallway.

Now I have more practice,
I'll do better the next time,
Because I am ready, in body and mind.
