Cathryn takes the official lead in SFB contest, Don hold unofficial lead

NCSN has posted the following earthquake this morning:

O: 23APR2002 11:59:20 UT 36.9N 121.6W Depth 9.1 km MW=3.7 WNW of San Juan Bautista, CA

The best forecast for this event was in Don's original SFB advisory. That forecast was for an
Earthquake about 35 km north of this epicenter on April 23, 2002 with Ml 2.3-3.3. This was not
An official entry in the SFB contest however.

Don and Cathryn had made a forecast for Aptos, California as well. Don's was for April 26 with
ML 2.5-4.0 at 37.0N 121.8W within 50 km and within the contest dates with Ml 4.5-6.0.
Since this event is within all of Cathryn's limits save the magnitude, Cathryn takes the lead
In the SFB contest.


Don's Original advisory had noted two possibilities which are near today's earthquake:

Cathryn had made the following forecast:


Aptos, as long as it's not directly under my house. (Ugh.) M: 4.5-6.0.

My coordinates page is not recognizing Aptos, either. An omen? I know we are close to 37.1 N. and 121 something W.

Range: within 50 km. radius.
Dates: as stated.

Aptos is located near 37.1N 121.7W - the "dates as stated" means as identified in the contest - April 21 - 27, 2002.
