If you're going to go to Parkfield for lunch how about checking out the latest fissure just off the side of the road, only about 1/4 mile from the turn off to the bridge. You could do a little field study while you're there.

Of course its only a little one, from what Don and I have learned, there is a much larger one on Middle Mountain and near Vineyard Canyon Road also. But the last two you can't see unless you get the guided tour on private property.

Yes indeed things are happening in Parkfield and they've only been occurring for approximately the last four months. Curious, huh?
