A new contest - the San Francisco Bay contest

In answer to Petra's remarks regarding the slowness of the announement of contest
winners, let's try a different approach.

Here is the next contest, which for lack of a better term we will call the San Francisco
Bay contest.

As many of the readers of this board are aware, Don in Hollister has issued an earthquake
advisory for the general region of the Central Coast of California - see his advisory at
the link below or at:

http://www.earthwaves.org/wwwboard/messages/14920.html

Apparently others have made similar warnings on another board as well.

The first of Don's possible earthquakes is supposed to occur on or about April 21.

The first part of this contest will last through April 27 (PST).

I believe Petra has a whistle - could she make one available to the winner of the
contest?

I propose the winner will be the person who most accurately predicts the date and
time of an event in the Central California coastal region of Ml>=3 during the week
starting April 21 (00:00 PST) to April 28 (00:00 PST). In case of a tie, the winner will be
the person who's prediction is closest to the actual epicenter of the event(s).
If no such earthquake occurs, the contest will be restarted for the week of May 1 through
May 8, and the winner will receive two whistles.

Simple enough, no probabilities, no tiny earthquakes in an obscure catalog.

Entries will be due to this board by 00:00 PST April 21, and may the best predictor
win.

P.S. The earthquake must occur in the region bounded by 39N - 36N and 124W to 120W
and be at least Ml 3.0 (NEIS or NCSN determination) for a winner.

As usual each contestant may make up to two entries.
