I told this story to Don earlier and he and I had some thoughts that maybe these two weird happenings may be pre-earthquake events. So it was with his encouragement, I'm posting this note.

I drive through the country on my way to work and this morning, I came up to this intersection and I was going southbound. I stopped at the stop sign and coming toward me was a small white four door sedan with a policeman behind him. The car just had a red spotlight out the window on one on the roof of the car. So I stayed where I was just in case the officer wanted to pass the car. As the white car inched forward I looked over at the driver and saw that he had kleenex stuffed up his nose. I figured as the police officer was pulling him over, he most likely had a bloody nose and perhaps was driving erratically while he was stuffing the kleenex to stop the bleeding.

So this evening I approached the same intersection and when I got there, on the opposite side of the road about 15 to 20 cows had nudged their way right up to the edge of the fence and were watching all of the people driving by. It was raining heavily at the time and it was most peculiar looking.

The odd thing is that about 500 yards away is a compression ridge where in December in 1981 four small earthquakes occurred. One on 12/18/81 and three on 12/20/81. All too odd for one single day.
