Re: Tax day contest - preliminary Watching & Waiting

Hi Roger,

The big one takes lots of lots of preliminary work. I've got two outstanding now that have not come to fruition yet, but I am very patient when waiting for "big earthquakes."

For a refresher, I am still waiting for a very large earthquake in the Kansai District in Japan with an accompanying tsunami. That's been on the back burner for 3 years and now the scientists are finally coming forward and indicating that yes indeed, something is wrong there. April 22nd is the day, either this year or when ever it gets darn good and ready.

Also, I've been waiting for almost two years for a 7.0 quake on the San Gregario Fault not far from the South end of the Golden Gate Bridge. It will be a 7.0 when it arrives. It will also produce a small tsunami of which part of it will wash over Point Reyes. This one in particular has been an interesting case in long term observance. When I first knew of its impending arrival there was nothing to indicate there would ever be any activity there. But in the past six months, everything has changed and sooner or later the bugger is going to go.

I've gotten past the I don't believe its going to happen stage. The stage where one expects others to stand up and take notice. Only a handful will believe, but the same held true for Noah, so if its good enough for him, then the same holds true for me.

Believe it or not, in time these two will occur.

Petra, patiently waiting.
