Re: Santa Cruz island |
Canie, I have worked with Mark Legg. I also have seismic reflection data south of Santa Cruz Island that shows the tip of the Channel islands thrust, and I have mapped that fault on west to south of Santa Rosa Island. One of these seismic profiles was on my AGU poster in 2000. There is a new paper in Dec 2001 BSSA by Dolan and Rockwell that says that the 1812 earthquake may have been onshore, on the San Cayetano fault. By the way, have you heard about the ghosts at Christi Ranch on Santa Cruz Island. There is a lady in green who hangs out on the footbridge, and someone (marla Daily) told me a first-hand very odd story about a man in a (brown?) outfit who just appeared, said a few things, and disappeared.
