To my knowledge no one is keeping "global warming" a secret. Everybody, including NOAA admits it exists. The question is how much is man-made and how much is natural fluctuation in the climate. Then following that, computer models give very different results depending on initial input, so one researcher may have a butterfly flapping it's wings in London creating global warming of 10 C over the next 100 years, another butterfly may flap it's wings in New Delhi and cause global warming of only 2 degrees over the same time period. The one thing all agree on is that global warming seems to be accelerating, especially in the past 10 years which saw 8 of the warmest 10 years of the 20th Century. No one is hiding anything - but results vary and can be interpreted differently depending on your scientific and political agenda. But this really hasn'tgot much to do with earthquakes (the subject of this board) on the surface, anyhow. There could be a relation, however, if the load currently held in icecaps is redistributed over the entire ocean. It is interesting that the areas which are covered with ice - Greenland and Antarctica have virtually no seismic activity - even at microseism levels. But watch out if the ice caps melt. The rebound for the first 10-30 years would create a series of earthquakes unlike anything we have seen on the earth since the North American glaciers melted 10,000 years ago.
