Don's Forecast and this morning's New Zealand earthquake (Mb 4.7)

Well, Don, it looks like your earthquake for New Zealand came through a bit
early and a bit bigger than expected. You had for your contest entry
for the new April forecast contest an event to occur
between March 29 and April 1 at 40.2S 176.6E near Wallingford, N.Z with Ml 3.5-4.2
Tonight the following event was recorded:

2002 Mar 26 5:22 p.m.
Latitude, Longitude: 40.3°S 176.5°E
Focal Depth: 39 km
Richter Magnitude: 4.7
10 km south-west of Porangahau
Probably felt strongly in southern Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa

This is less than 15 km from your forecast epicenter.
Roger, how does this stack up probability-wise?

Just to make Don feel better about the previous contest - there was a Ml 2.8 in
Northern Italy tonight near his predicted epicenter, and a Ml 5.0 in northern Greece
near the epicenter he predicted there earlier this month.

But, my guess is that this one will be hard, if not impossible to beat. Perhaps
Roger should declare that contest over and restart it on April 1.
