Bay Area Earthquake Advisory

Hi All. This is just an earthquake advisory. Once again the data is showing me something I haven’t seen before. At least not with this particular timing.

This is for the time period of 04/23-24/2002. I have two different sets of data for the area of 38.0N/123.0W, which is about 12Km SW of Inverness, California. It’s not a matter of choosing which one I want to use as both sets will be in affect on the stated dates at the stated location. At this time it’s indicating a 2.5 to 4.0Ml quake as maximum.

There is going to be overlapping of the data, but don’t know how this is going to affect the area. Using a 35Km radius I found that there hasn’t been much activity in this area. There was a 2.7Ml in 1985 and there was the 5.0Ml quake in 1999 near Bolinas, California. This was taken from the NEIC catalog and they don’t list anything below 2.0, which I think is big mistake. I would be willing to bet that Lowell (hint) could find a lot more if he wanted to look.

I check the data each day and will make any changes when warranted. Take Care…Don in creepy town
