The problem is that different regions react to different input. Even similar regions that react to the same input react differently. Dublin and Liverpool both have the same tide table nearly. Yet the ranges are different. Seattle is nearly as far north as the Bay of Fundy which has a range similar to the Bristol Channel which is slightly farther north again. But they behave totally differently. Seattle and Bristol are on the west coast Fundy on the east. Fiji is set to have its tides regulated by the sun only.
