Wanted to let you know what I'm doing and ask for your opinion(s).

I've defined the best fit for date as the date closest to the middle of the date window but not less than the start of the window.

I've defined the best fit for location as the closest to the center of the circle or rectangle.

I've defined the best fit for size as the largest quake available.

No quake earlier than the start of the window will be considered.

These work but are not necessarily the best. Any quake inside the parameters is a hit but closest to the center is not necessarily the best. Or is it?

Biggest mag is not enough; it's always the largest quake in the file; gotta add something there!
