The Ml 2.0 near the Nevada/California border this afternoon reminded me to look again at Don's Big Pine earthquake forecast. Don had forecast: F: 06MAR2002 +/- 2days 37.1N 117.6W Ml 2.0-3.0 Big Pine CA (within 35 km) On March 5 and 7 , the following earthquakes occurred (UNR): O: 07MAR2002 19:42:29 37.3N 117.2W ML 2 .0 O: 05MAR2002 22:23:03 37.3N 117.2 W ML 3.2 These earthquakes fall on the edge of the distance window, but within the magnitude And time windows. The event on March 5 has had the magnitude increased, to Ml 3.2 Making it the largest event in the California/Nevada region this week outside the Calexico Swarm, but now slightly out of Don's magnitude range, but today's event does make Up for that - correct in all details, good call, Don.
