Perigee 2001 Aug 19 5:30 GMT 357158 km
New Moon 2001 Aug 19 2:56 GMT

The New Moon occurred 2:34 before Perigee

The window last year would have been +/- 36 hrs from 4:00 GMT, or :

Aug 17 15:59 GMT - Aug 20 16:00 GMT

What do the places you found represent?

PDE-W 2001 08 21 065206.25 -36.81 -179.57 33 7.20 MEGS .F.G .......

is the only event I could find near last year's prime window, and it was 51 hours after 2001 Aug 19 4:00 GMT.

Maybe the sun/moon stress peaks a few days after the event? Perhaps this year's event (if one occurs) will be within 72 hrs of the event.

In that case, the window becomes
2002 Oct 6 12:00 GMT through Oct 9 12:00

Hmmmm....

We shall see which window is eventful, if you will pardon my pun. :)
