Hi All. Being as how I have this trait of wanting to know why things are the way they are as well as just wanting to know everything there is to know and then some I thought I would find out who fast the North American Plate is moving where I live. What I found was no big deal. However when I put the data in for where Petra lives I found that were not moving at the same rate of speed nor are we moving in the same direction. Close, but not the same.

Then I thought it would be interesting to see the velocity and direction of Parkfield in relation to Hollister and Rohnert Park.

After seeing that Parkfield was moving what appears to be faster then Hollister and Rohnert Park I thought it would be interesting to see what I would find for the latest quake off the coast of Eureka. What I found is that it appears that this area is moving slower in relation to the other 3 and that the direction is also different.

Now that I know a little more then I did an hour ago I’m wondering if there is anything I can do with this knowledge. I guess what I could do is check the same areas next month to see if there have been any changes and where these changes are. Take Care…Don in creepy town
