Gonzalez Quake

Hi All. The Palo Colorado-Sur is a right lateral strike slip fault. It is 80Km long. It has a slip rate of about 3.00mm +or- 2mm per year. It can have a quake up to 7.0Ml.

Late Qt. slip rate of 1-3 mm/yr based on assumed transfer of slip from Hosgri Fault. Slip rate from San Simeon Fault. (Hanson and Lettis (1994) and Hall et al (1994).

I haven’t been able to find any quake history for that fault. The map showing quakes larger then 5.0Ml I got at the AGU shows only one 5.0 to 5.4 quake in that area that occurred sometime between 1932 and 1999, but does not indicate the fault that it occurred on.

One thing I did see though is that there haven’t been very many quakes in that area. The maps shows quakes all the way back to 1800. Take Care…Don in creepy town
