The Seattle area goes in to a panic if it snows because of all the hills and that it tends to have a thin layer of ice under an inch or two of Snow. In the 50 + years that I have lived in Seattle I have only seen cold dry snow about six times. I have seen wet snow that stuck as late as May 1st or as early as Oct 15th the freeze date for the Seattle area
