Its kind of curious how things happen sometimes. The same thing happened after Pinatubo erupted. If the ash fall isn't enough, add water and boy oh boy, then you have a double disaster.

Its not unusual for it to rain after large earthquakes either. I can recall a few times seeing news footage of folks living in tents in parks and then it rains. Truly difficult on the emotions.
