What you need to make a hologram is a bucketful of money.

What I was making is called a rainbow stereogram. You make a whole bunch of 3-d plots, say 1 per degree as you move 90 degrees ort more around your image. Each image is made into a hologram about 1/8" wide. These are arranged side by side across the page.

Now when you look at it, each eye is looking at a different hologram so you see in stereo.

If you have a real object the process is much different, basically a single exposure but you need a laser to see it properly.
