I know Bob will hop round and answer your question shortly, but I wanted to say something while we are on this topic.

I also had a warning of this earthquake in advance of the event. Three days before the quake occurred I had a dream. In the dream I was looking at a sidewalk and I saw a bullseye crack in it and I said to my friend, "it looks like the Gorda plate."

Three days later in the morning as I was driving to work the quake struck. The building where I worked in at the time was shaken good enough that everyone there felt it. But the quake did not occur on the Gorda plate. So in saying "it looks like the Gorda" plate is correct, one fault near another in a subduction area does look like the other.

I had told several people at work and friends to expect a quake and some were in awe of the premonition and others, well, they were used to me telling them things before they happened.
