Ethos report:
Until I moved to Washington I never realized the diagonal movement of the Rockies....In California I was 8 hours away, but in Washington I am only 3 hours away. The doggone things are intimidating the further north one goes...I ran into a truck driver a week ago from back east, who didn't have chains with him. He got a ticket for that. He also learned a lesson about geology and weather in a place called "Lookout Pass".

The last time I crossed the Rockies up north here was 4 years ago...and I want to express the enormity for those who have only crossed in Colorado and further south. After *I* go east over the Rockies the stress builds...When coming west it lessens...It takes a shorter time for going east and a bit longer coming back west...

Jackson is a place that gets its share of quakes....most are not put on Golden...one has to go to the local site to get a full picture... Hey Don! Forget the Moosehead and go for the Rocky Mountain Brew:-)
