Hey Bob! That was my car! No joke. Pontiac Tempest, maybe a 63? Green. No a/c, convertible and broken windows, but mine had a Firebird 400 engine. August of 74 we were driving to Ft. Knox Kentucky. My husbands last 6 months of service. Had a toddler and an infant, and had to soak towels in ice water to wrap around them. Stopped in Barstow to buy more ice. Boy what memories you've dredged up. Hubby and I were there about a year ago and it has grown over the years.
