Yes - the last sizable quake in the area was the Anza 5.1 (Oct 30, 2001) recently - It seems 'background seismicity' is back to 'normal' levels around southren california (or so we've been told)

Anza was also in the San Jacinto fault 'zone' and then there was the 4.1 over at Bombay Beach at the southern end of the San Andreas fault zone -

I rather find it difficult to crisply define the fault zones here in Southern California - it seems even though there are some separate distinct faults, they are all along the plate boundary running parallel and all are strike-slip and any one of them could take the stress out of the area when and if they go. I look at all the areas from the Eastern Shear/rift zone to offshore at least as far as San Clemente Fault and north to at least tejon pass as one big fault zone...
