I wasn't aware of the above...Very interesting...Seems like in reality there is still going to be some sort of controversy. I have heard many a report about quakes in a certain persons locale and it "felt" to them larger than it was or some didn't feel it at all while others did...So essentially mag is an esoteric thing...just a number most of us can cling to?
