Seems to me that Edison and Tesla were frequently at each others throats. Edison was pushing for direct current and Tesla for alternating current. The few times they met, it was constant bickering. Edison spent a lot of "roadshow" time trying to convince folks DC was the way and AC would kill. Tesla defending in the same manner. A lot of this had to do with hydroelectric power and the fight for who was right.

Now this wasn't just a novel or a movie or some romantic notion. This debate brought the hairs on the necks to stand up. A couple of times it looked like it was going to be physical. HOWEVER...

No matter the fight..and back stabbing and constant bickering, both AC and DC became important parts of our lives....When intelligent folks feel strongly about their ideas, they defend them. And when the information appears to contradict the other party, they in turn bite back. This world is not all neat and tidy. Dummies fight...Smart folks fight...and of course some do not and never will....but if it were not for the words put out on this display, we would never learn new thoughts and notions...If we could leave our egos at the door...and still be able to disagree, would that not be much better.

*I cannot imagine burying hundreds of miles of 0 guage wire:-)
