AGU Kickoff

Hi All,

Don has improved, I didn't have to scream once at him about his driving~Yeah!

Anyway, we made it through registration and Roger Hunter, if you're out there, I've got the abstracts on CD's!

After registration of course comes the first mixer of the week. Beer and soda's all around. We had the former, rather than the latter. So we got a table and discovered that the list on the AGU schedule from the Internet which we thought was a lecture series is actually a list of posters. So, posters we will see tomorrow. That's okay because the list is really impressive, Roger Bilham, Andrew Michael, Yan Kagan and a few others. We won't be bored for sure.

We tried to find Chris from Suburbia, but no luck. If he was there, the room was housing about 1000 registrants, so finding anyone you don't already know is not easy.

Both of us were elated that the USGS is back and in particular the NEIC. We had a look at the two quakes in Baja, CA and it appears they are both on the San Andreas fault. This of course does not auger well for Southern, CA. Canie, hang on, you may see more action yet.
