Hi Lowell. Very well said. From the very beginning I was not interested in seeing how many correct hits I could get, but to see how well the data worked.

There have been misses, near misses and some that were so far out in left field that they should have never been made. Then there are those that are never posted. Of course no one gets to see those except me.

With each forecast I learn a little more. I have learned as to why some quakes occur early, but I have yet to learn why some occur late. I believe I have learned why some don’t occur at all. I have yet to learn with any degree of certain as to why a quake will occur on the date specified and within the magnitude range, but will be off a 100Km or more in location. I know why some do, but not all.

There is no doubt that the Bay Area, Southern California and the whole to the West Coast will have a major quake in the very near future. With the help of Petra, Cathryn, and others like them we can make the correct forecast for that quake. If not us then who ever takes our place can and will make that forecast. The one thing that bugs me more then anything else is that I may not be around to see that day become reality. Take Care…Don in creepy town
