That suggestion could start another long debate. Do you also believe weather forecasters should never confer with one another until after a weather system has passed? Worrying too much about hypochondria might cause readers to miss a valuable learning experience. Unless posting predictions is intended to be competitive, wouldn't it be more useful to give the person who first who posts a prediction the credit for it, then let others help refine it if they can? Is the primary objective individual achievement or investigating ways to forecast earthquake?
