As I was placing my Christmas ornaments on the tree I realized I hadn't thought about preparedness for this season.

Canie, you'll appreciate this one. I always tie my ornaments to the tree. Why you ask? Because when the cats climb the tree or an earthquake arrives they won't fall off the tree. My cats do get rather excited about the Christmas Tree. I used to try tying the tree to the walls by joining wires, but I found it wasn't fool proof, but the ornaments stay on whether the tree is climbed or it falls over. Believe you me, it requires far less fixing.

So if you live in EQ county, get some ribbons or yarn and after threading them through the loops, tie them to the tree with the ornament below the branch and a cute bow on top. Its very chic.
