Roger Musson suggested to me once that it is possible we who are "hearing" ear tones are not really hearing a sound. I think he's right. Its a vibration and we perceive it as a sound.

What makes me feel this is more correct is that this "sound" can be heard despite the amount of noise that is ongoing around the recipient. Lowell said the ear tone he heard today woke him up from a sleep. That's happened to me also.

The basis of what I have determined in describing these perceived sounds is that it is like imagining a fibre optic wire and the sound/vibration travels down this wire to the individual and it is perceived as an arriving sound.

I see by what Lowell has posted he seems to hear something which is related to solar activity at the moment it occurs, whereas ear tone sensitives hear earthquakes in advance by hours or days. Thus it seems there are two types of phenomena at work here, rather than one. I find it delightfully interesting. The shortest time period I have heard a tone before an earthquake was I believe 11 hours, however, I have had physical symptoms before earthquakes and the shortest one to date was 45 minutes and it was for two quakes in the same area and I had two physical symptoms.

Before the Bolinas quake I had a symptom called "the nods" in the afternoon around 2PM and later a headache behind my right ear. At close to 5PM the earthquake arrived. Repeatedly I have noticed I cannot hear earthquakes of a 5>, but receive a physical symptom before.

Thus we have to ask the question: If the earthquake sensitive person is hearing a vibration, then doesn't it also answer the question by receiving an advance vibration eminating from the Earth that affects the body in other ways as well? Or the Sun perhaps as it sends its flux rays toward the Earth?

Ah, this tickles the gray cells. There is much to be learned, but until someone is interested in taking this personal data into a scientific study with an open mind it may for years to come be an enigma to be solved. But belive me, it will be solved. I know.
