Yes, this counter is a little on the 'stupid' side - my previous counter (when I hosted the site) was 'smarter' in that it only would have counted you once during a session or if your IP address was the same as the last one it counted it would not increment the counter.

I have looked for a better one to replace the standard one used by the hosting site but no luck so far. (Any suggestions?)

One way to keep our number of hits down (we who check a few times a day) is to read the threads thru the messages and not go back to the main board each time... at the bottom of the first main post are the follow-up posts - click on them from the message and that doesn't increment the count.
