I'm not of Russian lineage but I fully agree with you.

Essentially, anybody who put any amount of effort or time into trying to solve this problem has done it with the idea of benefitting others (by trying to save lives for example). Some have been even able to get paid to do the kind of work they like.

So any persons anywhere who are trying to solve this problem, no matter how ridiculous or "off the paved trail" they go with their solutions, deserve, IMHO, some "hat off" to them for trying and putting in the effort in the first place.

Some of the people who come around and just harass just don't get it (although I can see where some claims tend to bring criticism...).

So I'm all for applauding anybody's intentions / efforts no matter how much or how little the effort is.... In a way, I suppose, it could be viewed as a form of "community service" since the only certain outcome is that you can say that you tried to help out...one way or the other....
