Seems to me we need to quit treating it as a point, or two points for starters. It's a linear creature. All the points along the fault need to be considered in the final solution. Those pretty multicolored shake maps we see on the larger quakes comes to mind. Don't have the math brainpower to figure it out myself, sorry ....
