Hi Lowell,

I've been busy with a nice family reunion, but even at that took a minute here and there to check the maps. While these two 3's are in an area that are not seismicity frequent to the Bay Area I think it is a sign of the times. More active times. Don said something about this about two weeks ago in suggesting that the Bay Area would be seeing more increased activity. He's quite right.

One other area that was in the late 70's is showing considerably higher activity this week and that is San Ramon. San Ramon is in the Livermore Valley and in the late 70's there were some good sized quakes out there, so if it should happen soon that something larger than these two's occurs, don't be surprised.

I was expecting a larger magnitude quake than the 3.3 that occurred today and it may still arrive. I feel more uneasy by the distance between these two recent 3's than I would have had the epicenters been closer. Something is amiss under that area and only time is going to show us what this scenario is all about.

As I reported to Don last night, yesterday my ear tones picked up considerably with four in one day and one of the four being only 1/2 second long. That would be a match for the Yountville 2.5 quake. The rest were distant and hardly perceptible so they are nothing to be concerned about.

All in all, it has been a long time since the Bay Area as had so many quakes in two days time.
