Another possibility just popped to mind...Suppose those heavy magnetic fields used in medicine ACTUALLY DO some kind of damage that we have yet to associate or record? IE What if the field were so strong that it attracted all of the micro-particles to a specific area...OR...bounced them around the brain like in the ancient game Pong..
that leads to many possible scenarios..some of which may not be easy to find...I will write Dr D and ask him what he thinks of this! Roger brings up some valid points..
