Don, I'm real familiar with the faults in Santa Barbara Channel. In fact, I have (with others) mapped them. A 2.3 to 3.5 has been pretty rare the last 10 years in the channel, but were very common in the 60s and maybe 70s (swarms). I'll defer to Lowell on how rare earthquakes have been the last few years over a 40 km radius. Chris
