Earthquake sensitivity can apparently be experienced by different people in a variety of ways including severe headaches, other aches and pains, and dizziness. I believe that people whose symptoms increase or decrease in strength depending on where they are or the direction in which they are facing may be experiencing something like dizziness. As far as I can tell, earthquake related ear tones are not directional. At the moment there may be twenty to fifty people who are earthquake sensitive who are posting notes to different message boards including this one regarding their experiences. So there is quite a bit of information available. Unfortunately, there do not appear to be any researchers who are interested in studying this unusual phenomenon.
