I was hoping you would mention that Ms 6.1 earthquake in the Gulf of California last night, Canie, as that may have changed the regional dynamics just enough to allow this swarm at Bombay Beach to occur. Here is a note from a scientist at SCEC regarding concerns they have with any increased activity at Bombay Beach: "We are always a bit nervous about BB, as some consider it analogous to Parkfield, ie. a nucleation point. It is the place where the Brawley Seismic Zone (which carries the principal seismicity away from the Imperial fault) onto the southern end of the active San Andreas. According to Kerry Sieh, this part of the SA has not had anything major since 1680."
