Morning, Petra,
Are you sure, in your drowiness yesterday morning, the voice you heard didn't say
"west" instead of "north". Yellowknife, Canada is located at 62.1N 114W. This morning
there was an earthquake in central Alaska of Mb 4.5 (a pretty good-sized event
for that region) at 62.1N 149.8W - 17 geocentric degrees due west of Yellowknife.
By the way, the north geomagnetic equator is located 20 degrees north of
Yellowknife, so any event in that vicinity is likely to occur in conjunction with
a major geomagnetic storm - or so it seems.
