I see they finally posted one of the earthquakes on the USGS map for St. Helens. But you know, I've had this thought going around in my head and maybe someone can clarify this a little.

The USGS reports that the dome inside the volcano is on the move or may move soon and with the depth of the earthquakes being shallow, would that support the USGS report? I would think in order to have a major event (eruption?) the quakes would have to be deeper inside the volcano.

Generally, I am not the least bit surprised to see activity pick up in the area for two reasons, a. the continued activity in BC and b. geomagnetics. Makes perfect sense to me.

Anyone who cares to jump in and clarify the depth question, please feel free to do so.
